The Social Positivists

the society for the advancement of positive knowledge

The Positivist Manifesto

A manifesto is a public declaration of a group's philosophy, encompassing the opinions, policies and goals of the group and its members.

The Positivists Manifesto lays out the principles and practices of Social Positivism: the belief that we the people are the direct measure of truth, that we the owners of the planet are heirs to the truths of God, and that all truth is communicated to us and can be verified by the coherency and rationality of the message.

Positivists believe we as Christians and members of the body of Christ are accountable for the costs we create. This is an absolute. We are not accountable for costs we did not create. Each person is accountable for his or her own costs. This principle of non-discretionary accountability (The Non-Discretionary Accountability Principle, NDAP) means we must each accept the burden of our own costs with no onus on us to accept costs created by others, this principle serves as both the basis of reconciling our differences and as the explanation for all division created.

The principle of non-discretionary accountability is consistent with Scripture and the principles of stewardship and the doctrine of Dominion.

Positivism is a soft technology or methodology designed to care for the planet as a jurisdictional possession. We are responsible for our political jurisdiction. This fact makes us owners or necessitates us being owners of our location. Our level of care is defined by the progress our actions create. Progress is a process of adding value to a pool of assets. Progress adds value to the place in which we are located and in fact progress is defined by the value we add macroeconomically, to the earth.

Rationalism is a belief in the existence of innate knowledge. All persons know right from wrong in the sense that we know when we create costs for other people; this harm is an infringement of their human rights. We also know when we harm the planet. Harm is manifested as a social cost. The existence of social costs is incompatible with our role as stewards. We are stewards because by being stewards we build the church. The liberal state is an ethical absurdity and inconsistent with human rationality as it delegitimizes stewardship and our responsibility for others. Liberalism is a rejection of our obligation to care for the earth in terms of our location. Our political location is our share of the earth. It enables responsibility to be exercised on the human scale.

Direct Markets devolve power down to the lowest political constituency. Direct Markets or Positive Exchanges are a practical application of The Golden Rule and the teachings of Scripture. Positive Exchanges are the embodiment of our role as stewards. Exchanges are a way to transform indirect ownership into direct ownership.

Social Positivists believes the world is rational and conceptual and knowable. Reality is inherently coherent and knowable. Building the church is a process of expanding our conceptual boundaries.

Coherency in our conceptual framework necessitates separation of Church and state.

There is no biblical or secular basis by which church and state can be reconciled. Each sector is based on a different conception of rights. The doctrines of human rights and legal rights are not reconcilable. Building the church cannot occur within the framework offered by the secular authorities.

Dominion is considered by some to mean mankind has authority over the world. This interpretation is in error. Humans are not restricted to Dominion over matter or the physical world our authority extends to reality itself. We create reality as we assign value to our experience. Reality is applied reason. Reality is conceptual and is composed of information. The world makes sense because or to the degree, our concepts make sense. The confusion that surrounds the idea of Dominion may be due to the fact we do not have dominion over others nor over reason itself.

Rationality must conform to the logic of information and to the internal coherency of the information. Humans are limited by what we can do, we cannot make contradictory ideas make sense.

Contradictions cannot create or compose reality. This is where our reason becomes subject to a power greater than ourselves. Where our concepts are inconsistent, our world is incoherent, and it is not possible to formulate or understand or fashion reality. Reality conforms to and is created by the laws of logic and communication. We cannot understand what we cannot communicate. What we cannot communicate cannot be comprehended. Rationality depends on a coherent world view that can be communicated.

The world is not Natural it is rational and ethical; natural law does not exist as a form of regulation governing the world. Existence is information and information that is good is rational. Commonality of understanding gives us a consistent reality.

Reason must always prevail in that reason is governed by information. We can make our own choices, but we cannot make choices inconsistent with reason and logic. Invalid choices are incoherent. Incoherent ideas produce a reality that is divisive. Rationality is defined by the logical rules created by God not nature. Only a society that promotes responsible government and stewardship is logically coherent.  Markets that corrupt civil liberties by supporting the concept of private ownership are as unethical as they are irrational.

Reality is conceptual, but our concepts have to be coherent or of necessity they are contradictory. We cannot have concepts that contradict each other and expect them or the reality they are supposed to represent, make sense. There is only one way our values will come together without contradiction. This one viable configuration defines reality. The truths of logic define the parameters of reality.

Reality can be considered to be a jigsaw puzzle made up of concepts. Reality is the one manner in which all the pieces fit together with no pieces missing, no holes remaining and each piece in its right place.

In a murder mystery the detective assembles all the pieces and ascertains the one way in which every piece slot appropriately together with every other piece. This is reality.

Rationality is expressed in economics and generates progress when done right. The concept of God is absolutely required for a coherent world view.

It is within one’s nation state that coherency is generated. The freedom to choose must be confined to making the best or most rational choice within the political jurisdiction in which one is located within the structure of a nation state. That is, we need to have location.

Political power resides or ought to reside in the boarders of a nation state. The concept of power is tied to the concept of the nation state, take this way, invalidate it and other concepts are also invalidated. The Social Positivists believes there is a way to live and do business that is more equitable and just than what Global Free Trade Agreements offer. The reasoning that leads governments to legitimize free trade leads to a weakening of our human rights. Without the nation state social costs increase. We no longer can, for example, block the formation of debt.

Debt is not rational. Waste infringes upon our human rights. The institutions and thinking that produce debt cannot be reconciled with our human rights or with a coherent world view.

Power resides in and flows from the people. We are the source of reality; that is our ability to communicate reality to others defines reality for us all. Reality cannot be based on or rely on or exist with tyranny. Tyranny is not consistent with the logic that underpins reality. No person has the capacity to define coherency. No one gets to define what makes sense for the rest of us. We the people need and demand freedom of choice, this is not the same as democracy. Democracy is ultimately not possible in a coherent reality. No one can impose costs on another, not even as a member of a larger and more powerful group.

All power is retained by the people other than that transferred to governments by means of a constitution. All power but that of ownership is assigned.

States have unilaterally and unethically not to mention irrationally usurped the final authority that has always belonged to the human person.

Regulations always exhibit favoritism. Some person always ends up paying costs created by others when there is a group with the authority to determine who owes what. Regulations always create social costs. Government ought to create consensus and function on the basis of a constitutional agreement based on the rights of ownership.

Free enterprise requires regulations. Free enterprise is an incoherent ownership model that promises freedom but necessitates the complicit support of the state. The free enterprise system is the economic equivalent of a survival of the fittest schema. The means of survival within the free enterprise economic model is based on or dependent on acquiring money, or profit.

This creates division and it requires we begin to see people not only as competitors but as prey.

The Golden Rule is a First Order Principle. To do unto others, as you would have them do unto you is scientific in that it creates a quantified index by which progress can be measured. Rationality demands we each pay our own costs. The Golden Rule rejects social costs and interventions by the state.

Right and wrong is defined by the coherence of our concepts. We cannot unilaterally impose our values on others. Social Positivists believes the value of the planet provides an objective guide to progress. The value of the planet is provided by us and is a concept that can easily and clearly be communicated. Intelligence is defined by the degree at which we as a people do that which generates value and inversely reduces social costs. Intelligence refers to the degree to which we exercise responsibility not only over the planet but over our reality.

Right and wrong are defined by the impact actions have on a community and the planet in a more general sense. If our reality conflicts with the reality of others due to inconsistencies in our thought our choices are not rational. Rationality cannot be legislated. No one can define what is right for others or even what is right in every context. Our individual actions in context define right from wrong. This does not mean reality or morality is subjective; in fact, it means the opposite. No one gets to define coherency.

Regulations cannot provide mankind with a conceptually congruent society. We need a more objective foundation on which to build an ethical and prosperous society. Coherency is not subjective it has hard boundaries.

Right actions are aligned with the operations of an Exchange. Wrong actions lead to a decline in value and an increase in conflict. Wrong actions pit one part of the community against the other. Christians have only one option, we must seek coherence within the boundaries of the church.

Progress requires power and resources be stripped from the public sector and transferred to the church if we are to build the church. The transfer of powers from the private sector to the church necessitates the formal adoption of a politics that permit the transfer of wealth be market orientated. Social Positivists creates a political system in which politicians become administrators. Social Positivism eliminates politics that see people as subjects.

Administrators have only those powers transferred to them. The politics of Social Positivism builds the church.

Administrators have only those powers needed to oversee an assigned duty. Government administrators have only those powers specifically assigned to them by those whom they govern otherwise the authority wielded is illegitimate.

Control of political power is through the purse. Social Positivism is a science-based political system in which we the people retain the right of issuing money. We control the public purse.

Social Positivists do not rely on the power of law but on the constitution that is provided in Scripture. Somewhat along the lines of the American system, the people retain control of the purse.

All other government power than that provided by the lower levels by and through the form of an assignment of funds is illegitimate.
